Charlotte Portrait Photography>>Tina>>Forget Me Knot

I feel so official today. I have my brand new blog with my brand new name and logo AND a brand new post! Bam!

Starting your own business is a little overwhelming. Since I started working for Caroline, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it is to do the balancing act. Your business becomes who you are and everything you do becomes entangled in that. Even with photography, you can’t just work on it a certain number of hours a day and be finished; you work day and night to finish until you’re so tired that you start drawing handle-bar mustaches on your clients faces, snickering and telling the air how clever you are, and then quickly erasing them once you’ve realized what you’ve done. With that said, it scares me when someone asks me if this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Do I really want any sort of business to become my life?

But then, I get to the day of the wedding. The mom is helping her daughter into her dress, her sister is fixing her hair, and the flower girl is already tearing up before they have even gotten to the ceremony. The bride walks down the aisle and you can hear everyone gasp a little as this glowing figure passes them in a wisp of creamy white, on her way to kiss her prince’s dimples and hold on to his trembling hands. The pastor chokes back the tears as he prays over them and the mother and father of the bride catch each others glance and smile in honor of all that today holds. The pastor announces their declaration of love and cheers burst out of the happiness of the crowd. At the reception, the lovelies dance the night away, laughing and kissing and living in that moment.

Its why I am a photographer. Its what I’ll always be.

NOW for what you’re really here for. THE PICTURES. This very first post is in honor of my sweet summer roommate, Tina. God sure works in crazy ways…who would have thought that out of all the people He could have put me with this summer it ended up being a wedding planner?! Her brand new business, Forget Me Knot, is coming very soon and I would HIGHLY recommend her for your special day. She is with out a doubt, one of the sweetest friends I have…her personality is contageous…CATCH ON!

So enjoy the eye candy and I apologize for making my first post such a novel. I guess I really am supposed to be an english major. Big thanks to Caroline for helping me set up the blog! You’re the best!

Much love and happiness,
Courtney Lane

She can be fierce too.
